Willie Leroy Robinson passed away unexpectedly in Richmond University medical center on January 17th 2026 in Staten Island.

Willie Leroy Robinson (Robbie) was born on August 26th 1933 in Jacksonville Florida where he was raised by his adopted mom Bessie Coleman. He finished his education in the Florida system. At the age of 20 Robbie enlisted in the army working for the Dept. of Defense in 1953 -1956. Robbie later found his way to New York. During his stay here in New York, in 1957, he met the love of his life Sudie L. Robinson. They joined together in marriage on May 18th 1957. Out of the union were 5-children, 3- boys, 2- girls. Robbie later continued his career as a Merchant Marine until he retired in 1999. Robbie then became a stay-at-home husband. While home he picked up some hobbies, began to cook more, do gardening and cleaning around the house, outside preparing for family BBQ. Everyday you can catch Robbie at the kitchen table reading his newspaper. He also loved driving to the stores. Robbie enjoyed his family and his children and grandchildren. When they stopped by on January 17th he went on home to be with the Lord. Willie is resting peacefully with his late wife Sudie L. Robinson. He proceeded in death with his mom Bessie Coleman. He leaves to treasure his memories, his sons: Kenneth Robinson, Dougie Robinson and Keith Robinson of Staten Island. Janice Robinson (Ross) of Syracuse New York. Valerie Robinson of Staten Island. His grandchildren: Ebony Walker, Shoivna Robinson, Janae Dawson, Elon James Robinson, Esaiah James, Shanice Townes, Rayshawn Rogers. Great grands: Reshon Dawson, Azziah Robinson, Anayla Robinson, John Hawkin, Taria Rogers, Kehlani James. His nephew Bishop Carl Clark.Hiis best friend and neighbor Eddie, and a host of nieces and nephews.
