Elizabeth Correa, affectionately known as Liz, was born on February 7, 1962, to Miriam Maldonado and the late Jose Correa. She was the fourth of nine children and the second daughter. From the very beginning, Liz had a spark that could light up any room. Funny, silly, creative, witty, and big-hearted, she loved her family and friends deeply.
Liz grew up in Brooklyn and Staten Island, attending Intermediate School 27 and Susan Wagner High School. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and sought to live her life guided by faith.
She married and moved to the Bronx. After the passing of her husband, she remained in the Bronx before eventually relocating to Binghamton, where she spent the remainder of her life.
A passionate homemaker, Liz poured her love and care into raising her children. She also had a deep love for crafts, crocheting, and jewelry-making. Many family members were blessed to receive her handmade creations, often featuring her favorite color, teal.
Elizabeth is survived by her children: Georgie, Angel, Joshua, Lisette, Randy, and Albert; her son-in-law Julio and daughter-in-law Yarili; her grandchildren Valerie, Jared, Michael, and Isaac; her great-granddaughter Zaria; her mother Miriam; her eight siblings Mickey, Arlene, Tony, Rachel, Danny, Mimi, David, and Luz; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
She will be remembered for her faith, her creativity, her laughter, and the deep love she had for her family.
