Betty May Brock Saylor died peacefully on September 27 th , 2025, on Staten Island, NY
at 84 years old.

Betty May Brock Saylor was born on May 1 st , 1941, in Staten Island, NY to
[Charles Brock and Sara Harris]. She was the youngest of 7 children Rachel Brock,
Anna Brock, Martha Brock, Fred Brock, Henry Brock, Charles Brock.
She graduated from McKee Highschool in 1959. After moving to 81 Jersey Street
in Staten Island, Betty worked for The Bank of America for 25 years as a Bank Officer
issuing letters of credit. Betty then worked for 10 years at A Very Special Place caring
for the Cognitively impaired. During this time Betty married James Saylor and had two
children Jennifer and James. Betty was a member of Prince Hall Eastern Stars Chapter
#43 since 1995. Betty was a volunteer for RSVP at Seamans Society since 2011.

Betty’s favorite thing to do was travel, especially on cruises.
Betty left us all with a message and wanted you all to know this: “I know this is
not easy for those I leave behind. Remember, I love you all and I wish you all a happy
life. I hope I live long enough to see Taneya and Bradley grow up to be teenagers and
on the right track to a good life. I’m hoping that I have gotten closer to Justin and
Jonathan, I always loved them. I’m sure Josette and James will do a great job. Jennifer,
please be strong I know that Tysen is by your side, where he has always been for you
and for me. I’m hoping Tahlea has finally found the right path and met her goal in life. I
hope you all will try to remember me with love. My last thoughts were of the life I have
spent and will miss with you. One last thing, please make sure my obituary reads “Betty
Brock Saylor” I came into this world a Brock, I have to leave the same way.
